ABOUT US

#FixBaltimore is a For-profit organization grounded in grassroots values. Founding members of the organization were serving the Baltimore community prior to the conception; however events leading up to and after the death of Freddie Gray generated collective action.

Early group efforts included community clean-ups, feeding the homeless, and bonding sessions. The near death of founding member, Keith (KC) Cooper due to dangerous road conditions inspired the group to take on yet another task. Thus, planting flowers in potholes become a creative, effective, third solution for community improvement.

On August 29, 2016, members KC and Maurice Ashby took steps to make #FixBaltimore an official enterprise. The organization is dedicated to improving the material conditions, economic opportunities, and overall atmosphere of urban Baltimore. During the past year, #FixBaltimore’s initiatives have grown and evolved into a movement for and by  passionate young people. Their urgency for change has motivated artistic, agricultural, job training, and youth centered projects.
